My career as a photographer began when I was 12 years old. I saved up enough Bazooka Bubble Gum comic strips to send for a free camera. It was made out of plastic, with a fixed lens, and it used 127 film. By the time I was eighteen. I obtained a Honeywell Pentax Spotmatic 35mm SLR. It was my dream camera and it opened up the world to me. From that moment on, I devoured every book and periodical about photography that I could lay my hands on. Soon, I was developing my own film and printing in black and white. Today, thanks to digital capture and computers, I can work easily in both color and black and white. I still own that original Pentax Spotmatic, though today I work mostly with Canon and Pentax digital SLR's.
